My Website Creation Journey

I dreamed of creating a website so my grandparents could follow my adventures in Indonesia through a vibrant blog.

Step 1: Going Online

I secured a server and domain through Hostinger and followed the odin project to begin the journey of website design. In heinsight there are cheaper options for web servers (like AWS) but part of the joureny has been making mistakes and learning better techniques as I go. I started with no experience in HTML, CSS, or Java Script. However, I thought no better way to learn than just build a website.

Step 2: Learning to Build

With a completely blank canvas, I embarked on creating stylish designs with less-than-competent skills. With no AI resources but a rich community within YouTube and GitHub, I endeavored to add an artistic spin to each webpage. In the beginning, my only criterion for the website was that my grandparents could access the information. Simplicity and clarity would therefore be of utmost importance.

Step 3: Expanding and Refining

Out of pure hatred for LinkedIn, I set out to capture both my professional and unprofessional life within this portfolio. Each experience is unique and deserves its own space, free from rigid uniformity. While a standardized design might streamline the site, I embrace the challenge of crafting distinct layouts and color palettes for each page. In doing so, my individuality is woven into every aspect of this website.

Step 4: Visions of the future

I have a note sheet filled with future ideas. There are many more stories to tell via this web platform and plenty more that have not been lived. I desire to include user interface games and attractions like calculators and tools I have developed while studying engineering. Look out as well, there might just be a puzzle hidden in the pixels waiting to be discovered...
